"Alone we do so little, together we can do so much." — Helen Keller
Our story begins and ends with you. Collectively you have made our story what it is. We are the preservationists for your life story. Every piece we have framed is a memory on display. Every piece we have preserved becomes a piece of history for that family.
Since 1969 one thing has felt certain: this has never been about frames. It is about our shared belief as custom framers that beauty matters. That art and framing is part of a life well lived. The Framemakers were built on the belief that exceptional framing need not be rare or expensive. Our methods remain time-honored, our hands are practiced and our standards are uncompromising.
As soon as you enter the showroom in our 5,000 square foot studio our dedication to custom framing is evident. Over 3,000 frame styles are on display organized by color and style. Large tables for designing, a tower of over 1,000 mat choices, and glass displays that clearly show the different finishes. The Framemakers have been and continue to be a leader in the framing industry while maintaining high quality materials and standards. We look forward to helping you preserve your life story.

Most customers will meet Sarah at the design counter since she is excellent at helping clients bring their image to life. She then can proceed with every aspect of bringing that image to fruition. In addition, she manages our inventory while ordering and checking-in deliveries, but she also finishes the item in the frame with wire and all. Sarah also tends to our small in-stock supply of metal frames. She mounts and sews all our textile pieces. Sarah uses her creative talents by designing and implementing the window displays that downtown Westmont visitors are so fond of. There are times Sarah will greet our customers by surprise when she’s working on a window display.
Sarah is our resident brainiac. She has two bachelor's degrees from Eastern Illinois University, one in English and one in Psychology. As if that wasn’t enough, she has a master’s degree in psychology from Northern Illinois University. Sarah is a fantastic wife and wonderful Mom. If I sound partial, she’s also my daughter. She has been a Framemaker since 2012.
